Researchers often need optimal testing conditions to carry out their research. Catering to such a need, Aeroflex has deployed a TM500 Time Division Duplex-Long Term Evolution Test Mobile test system to the China Academy of Telecommunications Research.

With the TM500 Multi-UE variants, complex scheduler and load capacity testing can be performed early in the design cycle and help deliver robust, flexible and high performance solutions to network operators.Aeroflex ( News - Alert) Test Mobiles provide low level handset UE control and configuration flexibility combined with the detailed measurement data required by infrastructure engineers.

In the demanding world of cellular equipment development, TM500 enables base station testing before user equipment is available. Without a working mobile device, base stations cannot be tested without a test mobile system. To enableLTE ( News - Alert) development and capacity testing, TM500 Test Mobile systems can emulate an HSPA+ handset UE, LTE UE with 300Mbit/s performance.

“For the past 15 months, Aeroflex has worked closely with China Mobile (News - Alert) and its network equipment suppliers to develop reliable, high-performance network equipment. We look forward to continuing our partnerships in China to ensure the success of TD-LTE," Jimmy Tan, vice president, Aeroflex Asia, said. "Looking forward, we will soon deliver complementary R&D tools to support the development of TD-LTE UEs and data dongles.”

TM500 is the de facto industry standard for 3GPP verification, validation, and optimization. Aerofelx claims that every major infrastructure vendor, and a majority of femtocell (miniature wireless base station) manufacturers, uses the TM500 throughout their product development cycle. TM500 offers all the capabilities of a mobile terminal with advanced test functionality from HSDPA through HSUPA and HSPA+ to LTE.

The company recently partnered with Altair Semiconductor, a
4G chip company developing advanced mobile semiconductors for handheld devices for a joint LTE collaboration. Through the collaboration, Altair and Aeroflex will perform interoperability testing to enable joint customer development and testing on a pre-tested and qualified User Equipment test setup. Altair has ordered multiple 7100 LTE digital radio test sets from Aeroflex.
