XGP Baseband Processor – The FourGee-4150

Comprehensive 4G baseband & RF chipset portfolio

The FourGee-4150 XGP-PHS baseband processor is compliant with the PHS MoU eXtended Global Platform (XGP) 4G standard, and implements full PHY/MAC functionality.

The processor is highly optimized for integration in handset and handheld devices, where battery time and form factor are critical factors.  The FourGee-4150 features ultra-low power consumption in both active and idle modes, extending even small capacity battery times to multi-hour figures even under intense bandwidth usage.  The processor embeds internal memory that enables it to support very high modem and packet performance without requiring additional dedicated system Flash or DRAM.  It connects to the host application processor through high-speed serial interfaces, without burdening the system cost and power budget with unnecessary interface silicon area and pins.

The FourGee-4150 architecture is based on a proprietary, cutting edge O²P Software Defined Radio (SDR) processor.  Using O²P, the FourGee-4150 offers OFDM-related signal processing capabilities which significantly exceed traditional communications DSP cores, yet consumes a fraction of the power.

The FourGee-4150 is complemented by  the FourGee-6150 RF transceiver to offer a complete XGP chipset solution.
