Job Description:

Sony Altair ‘s cellular communication algorithms group is seeking a stellar student. The algorithm team creates cellular modem solutions for IoT chipsets while bridging the gap between algorithm theory and practical algorithm applications. Our solutions leverage dedicated hardware to deliver exceptional, low-power modems with state-of-the-art performance.

Join our multidisciplinary team, and play a significant role in analyzing and advancing Sony Altair’s modem performance.


  • In-depth algorithmic analysis of modem performance and identification of gaps across all modem layers
  • Leveraging knowledge of algorithmic solutions to improve modem performance
  • Defining system-level solutions for real-life scenarios in a complex cellular environment
  • Building infrastructure and tools for modem performance validation
  • Integrating a wide system view, working closely with algorithm development, software, and hardware teams


  • Electrical/Computer Engineering students (BSc or MSc) with an excellent academic record
  • Signal Processing experience
  • Experience in Matlab, Programming in C/C++, Java or Python.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Experience in algorithm development – an advantage
  • Background in wireless communication – an advantage—
